Book Design

The Picture of Dorian Gray is a classic novel in which Oscar Wilde illustrates the impermanence of youth and the shallow facade of Victorian society. Using those dark and beautiful themes as Inspiration, I created a book jacket and accompanying interior pages for a hardcover book. The combination of a sleek serif, saturated floral imagery, and bold red accents, communicates to shoppers the sophisticated yet eerie and beautiful content of the novel.

To optimize readability, the type must be set with extreme attention to detail and knowledge of publishing standards for type and page design of headers.
